What does a dietitian do?

A dietitian provides evidence-based nutrition advice to support health, wellbeing and quality of life. This may include nutrition assessments, meal planning, managing medical conditions, improving food variety, supporting safe mealtimes, and helping clients build confidence with food.

Do you support NDIS participants?

Yes. Food in Focus Dietetics supports self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Hannah can provide nutrition assessments, tailored recommendations, mealtime strategies, support worker training, supplement advice, reports and ongoing dietetic support.

What happens during an initial consultation?

During your first consultation, Hannah will take the time to understand your health history, current eating patterns, lifestyle, goals, food preferences and any nutrition-related concerns. For NDIS participants, this may also include discussing support needs, mealtime routines, family or carer involvement, and goals for improving independence, confidence and quality of life.

Can you train support workers or carers?

Yes. For NDIS participants, Hannah can provide training for support workers, carers and families to help them understand and implement nutrition recommendations, meal plans, mealtime strategies, hydration support, supplement use and safe food practices.

What conditions can a dietitian help with?

Hannah can support a wide range of nutrition-related concerns, including weight management, malnutrition, diabetes, heart disease, renal disease, digestive issues, allergies, fussy eating, swallowing or texture-modified diet needs, PEG feeding and general healthy eating.

Are consultations available online?

Yes, consultations may be available via telehealth where suitable. Depending on the client’s needs and location, other services may also include in-person appointments, guided grocery shops, mealtime support or support worker training
